If you haven’t already heard, we’re launching the WPS Awards ahead of this year’s Wedding Photography Summit! For years, this has been a huge unrealistic goal of mine and I can’t believe it’s finally happening.
When I first started photography, I remember feeling like most of the awards were geared towards ‘old school’ photography…and judged by old school photographers! The available awards didn’t represent our modern community. As time goes on, trends, art, and culture change and photography awards should reflect that.
While we were planning the Wedding Photography Summit, and true to my reckless “let’s f*cking do this” nature, I decided to stop procrastinating and make the awards happen. Thanks to my team, we hustled around the clock and launched the WPS Awards in only FOUR WEEKS. It’s blowing my mind how much we’ve accomplished in such a crazy-short timeframe.
That meant creating a NEW website, client experience, branding, contracts, payment gateways, systems, judges, etc…all in 4 weeks. I truly believe that business needs to be an adventure – even if the awards are a massive flop. Keeping us uncomfortable as we risk it all. Dream big, take action and make the impossible possible, right?
We know there are photography awards of all shapes, sizes, prestige, and experience levels out there. But just like your ever-evolving creative vision and style, we wanted to start afresh and create space for artists who create from the heart.
Open to wedding and elopement photographers of all experience levels, we’d love to celebrate you and your heartfelt craft! Recognising rising talents and modern creatives, this is an opportunity for you to share your best work and/or vote for your peers.
Uniting over passion and innovation, our overarching goal is to empower community over competition. Keeping it authentic and free of cliches.

There will be four award-winning photographers reviewing your submissions. We have chosen them based on their dedication to levelling up their craft and our community.
Voting will also be open to the public so you can show your favourite wedding or elopement photographers some love too!
We will shortlist 10 entrants from each category and officially determine a category winner.
The overall WPS Awards winner will be named the ‘Wedding Photographer of the Year 2021’.
The Wedding Photography Summit will be taking place over 2 high-vibe days, 22-23 November (PST). Attracting thousands from across the globe, we’ll have 10 industry-leading speakers sharing their insights and wisdom! Make sure you check out the lineup and save your spot!
To wrap up the epic experience, the awards night will take place from 5pm on 23rd November (PST). India Earl will be announcing the winners, so you’ll want to be at the summit! From just $7 for general admission, it’s the most affordable, value-packed investment you’ll ever make.
All shortlisted entrants and winners will receive a digital media pack to feature across their website and socials. Winners will also receive a WPS Awards trophy – delivered to you for free.
The overall winner will also get an exclusive feature in Hello May! Hello May is one of Australia’s biggest wedding publications.
I think it’s incredibly important to support not just our industry but also the wider community. Through lockdowns and restrictions, the world around us is changing. Even if it’s behind closed doors, many are quietly hurting and struggling to see the light.
Worsening already heartbreaking situations, domestic violence has soared since the pandemic. This is why we’re donating all profits from the WPS Awards to Berry Street and Futures without Violence, charities that fight domestic violence and spread awareness.
I hope that in some small way, the love and respect we have for one another can extend beyond our creative community. If you are a victim of family/domestic violence, please speak up and seek help. Don’t suffer in silence.
You are worthy, you are loved.❤️
Submit your images to the WPS Awards today! Good luck!
